Cornish Saffron Cake

This traditional Cornish Saffron Cake is made with real saffron to a secret recipe. The saffron cake is full of currants, raisins and sultanas with a hint of citrus peel. Try just slicing with butter or alternatively toast and cover with jam - delicious.

Saffron Cake is said to date back to the days when Phoenician traders exchanged spices and other goods for the tin from Cornish mines.
