A big thank you to our north London customers for all the kind messages we have received since we closed our Muswell Hill shop (see our news below) - we are very touched that you are all missing us so much, and we're delighted to see that so many of you are now visiting our online shop.

Also a quick word to those of you who are desperately missing our home-baked cakes and biscuits, especially our award-winning chocolate sandwich biscuits. They will be available again very soon - just as soon as our new kitchen is finished and we can start baking them again. Don't hesitate to email us so we can let you know when you can buy them again.

We've Moved - but not far!

Those of you who have visited our small shop in north London will know that we have become increasingly cramped for space over the years due to the huge range of products that we stock. Even back in 2008, Time Out described us as a "jam-packed high street deli" and that was when our online business had just started.

Since then our online business has grown so well that our Muswell Hill shop just doesn't have the storage space we need for all of the products that we sell or enough space to pack and hold parcels that are ready to send out to our online customers. We have been searching for new larger shop premises for the past year, but despite there being so many empty shops around, nothing that is completely suitable has become available so we have made the difficult decision to move out of the high street to a large office just a short distance away in Islington and focus on our online business. However we are still on the look-out for new north London shop premises so watch this space for news!

In the meantime, for all our local customers - don't panic as all of your favourites are still going to be available, you'll just need to browse our shop online, and if you'd prefer not to use our courier delivery service please just give us a few weeks to get organised and we will restart our local home delivery service. Plus you will soon be able to order online and collect from our office with the added bonus of easy parking - unlike Muswell Hill Broadway!

These classic Italian bitter-sweet fruits that are preserved in a spicy syrup with mustard oil really are an unusual and delicious accompaniment to cheese and cold meats.

We were thrilled to be featured on on the Good Food Channel's Market Kitchen - in a blind taste test of dark chocolate couverture our 74% dark chocolate chips came out top! Can't say we are too surprised though because this is the chocolate that we use in our baking for our shop and it is a vital ingredient in our Gold award-winning Chocolate Sandwich Biscuits and our chocolate Melbury Cake.

Our Online Shop is Open!

After many months of planning, writing descriptions and editing photographs, our online shop is finally open for business. We hope that customers throughout the UK will now be able to enjoy the fantastic range of food and hard to find ingredients available to our north London customers. Great Taste Awards 2008

Once again this year our owner, Claire, was a judge at the Great Taste Awards (the food industry Oscars). She judged categories that included pies, black pudding, marmalade, ice cream, brownies and chocolate truffles.

For those of you that aren't familiar with the awards they really are an indicator of quality. Unlike the "finest" or "taste the difference" ranges in the supermarkets (which are just the supermarkets' own opinions about their own products) if a product is awarded Gold at the Great Taste Awards you know that it has been chosen in blind tastings by independent food industry professionals.
