Olivar de la Luna is an organically produced extra virgin olive oil with a pure intense flavour and orange citrus tones from Santa Casilda, a family company based near to the Cordoban town of Pozoblanco, in the heart of the spectacular Sierra de los Pedroches, part of the Andalucia region of Spain. This oil is in supplied in a very attractive dark blue ceramic bottle.
This organic oil is made from Nevadillo blanco olives, native to the region, supplemented by Lechín, Picudo or Manzanilla. The high percentages of these local varieties distinguish the flavour from other southern Spanish oils, as does the different yearly balance of contributing varieties within the oil. Fruity oils from Andalucía are common, but the predominance of Nevadillo Blanco olives differentiates this, with its orange citrus tones and spicy lemons.
Thanks to a combination of traditional methods and modern technology, this olive oil is of the very highest quality with unique characteristics befitting the area where it is produced and the care and skill only a traditional, family-run business can offer. Their policy of zero irrigation, despite the drought stricken region, results in lower yields of more intensely flavoured oil.
