Ossau Iraty

Ossau Iraty - a traditional semi-hard sheeps' cheese from the mountains of the Basque region of South West France. Thought to be one of the oldest cheeses still being produced with a history that can be traced back over 2000 years.

This delicious aromatic cheese has a wonderful complex, buttery, slightly nutty flavour. Ossau Iraty makes a great addition to a cheeseboard and is traditionally served with cherry jam from the Basque village of Itxassou but it is also a very versatile cheese for cooking.
