Sharpham Rustic with Chives & Garlic - a semi-hard cheese made in Devon using creamy, organic milk from the Sharpham Creamery's own herd of Jersey cows. The cheese is matured for 6-8 weeks to produce a moist, creamy, crumbly texture that is just delicately flavoured with chives and wild garlic. The cheese forms a thin, edible white rind during the maturation process.
The inspiration for adding this flavour to the cheese came from the cows themselves who had a habit of wandering onto an area of field where they could graze on wild garlic. The result was a delicate garlic flavour coming through in the milk and cheese, so the creamery decided to add to this natural flavour.
