The Shropshire Black ham is unique - made exclusively to a recipe originally created by Lord Bradenham in 1781 in Buckinghamshire rather than Shropshire. This ham will appeal to those who are looking for something really special. Like the York, this is a dry cured ham. What makes it different, however, and gives the uncooked ham its distinctive black rind, is a fortnight spent wallowing in a special marinade of molasses, juniper and spices.
Produced from British pigs that have been outdoor reared and cared for to the highest standards of animal welfare.
Please note that because these slices are cut from the cured leg they will not be uniform in size and shape like the reconstituted sliced ham sold in most other outlets.
