White Asparagus - finest quality tender, delicately flavoured thick white asparagus spears, a delicacy in Spain. Delicious in salads or simply dip into homemade or good quality mayonnaise.
The asparagus is planted and covered with dirt, so the shoots retain their white color and are soft and tender. This makes harvesting rather labour intensive, so white asparagus is more expensive than the fresh green asparagus that is more familiar to us in Britain, but they really are worth the price.
