How Will My Order Be Delivered?
Please see the Delivery Table below for courier details and charges. We offer a range of delivery options depending on your delivery address and order contents so that you are able to choose the service you prefer.
All orders are delivered by the fully tracked & signed for service you select at checkout, with delivery normally Monday to Friday only, although Yodel and the Royal Mail will sometimes deliver to residential addresses on a Saturday. This isn't something we can dictate unless a Saturday Delivery service is selected.
A signature is required on delivery, so please be sure to provide us with a shipping address where someone will be available to accept and sign for your parcel. For your security we aren't able to accept requests for parcels to be left in a safe place without being signed for. Please also ensure that the your address is accessible with a working doorbell. Courier drivers aren't normally prepared to telephone you in order to access your premises to deliver your parcel.
You have the option at checkout to specify a delivery address which is different to your card's billing address. We are happy to deliver to work places, neighbours or friends if this information is provided at checkout.
Unless morning delivery has been selected at checkout and is available for your delivery address, all deliveries to business addresses will be within normal business hours (8:30am - 5:30pm) as long as it is obvious to the courier that it is a business address. To residential addresses, delivery can be at any time from 7am until 7pm, sometimes later. Time slots can't be specified but if DPD delivery is selected, you will typically receive a one-hour delivery window from DPD. It isn't possible to request an afternoon or evening delivery.
How Quickly Will My Order be Dispatched?
We aim to process and dispatch orders within 1 working day. Usually:
- Order placed before midday Monday - Friday are dispatched that day.
- Orders placed on Friday after midday, and on Saturday or Sunday, are dispatched on Monday
- We don't dispatch orders containing temperature sensitive goods on a Friday
What Happens If I Am Not In When My Order is Delivered?
You may specify an alternative shipping address at checkout e.g. work place, neighbour or friend where you can be confident someone will be available to sign for your parcel. If you select Delivery with DPD in the UK then you will also be able to contact DPD directly to arrange for the parcel to be delivered to a local shop.
When your order is dispatched you will receive an email from us providing access to the courier's live online tracking system. You will then be able to see when your parcel is out for delivery to you. If you choose DPD Delivery then you will receive a one-hour delivery slot on the morning of delivery.
If no-one is available to accept and sign for your parcel the courier will usually try a neighbour and if they leave the parcel with a neighbour they will normally leave a card to let you know where the parcel has been delivered. Otherwise they will usually leave a card to say they have tried to deliver and will usually try to deliver again if the delivery address is residential. Please note that with all couriers, cards are often not left or go astray, which is why the online tracking for your parcel should always be checked if you do not receive your parcel when expected.
If no-one is available on any of the occasions the courier tries to deliver they will then hold the parcel at their local depot for a few days and you will be able to arrange to collect it from there.
Delivery Options & Delivery Charges
Unlike many websites we want to be transparent about costs, so we don't hide delivery costs in product prices in order to offer "free" delivery for all orders. It wouldn't really be free, it would just mean that customers ordering lots of items would pay inflated prices for those products and subsidise other customers ordering small amounts, which we don't think is fair!
Transit times are from the day of shipping and are guidelines only. They're not guaranteed as the courier companies don't provide guarantees. N.B. We are currently seeing extended delivery times in some parts of the country for parcels sent on non-express delivery services, because all of the delivery companies are extremely busy.

Orders containing perishable, refrigerated products are not dispatched on Fridays (as they would not be delivered until the following Monday) unless Saturday delivery is selected at checkout. Such products can only be sent on an Express or Morning delivery service to ensure that they are delivered to you at a safe temperature so only these delivery options will be offered to you at checkout.
If your order contains items that need to be kept chilled, they will be packed with specialist refrigerant gel packs. These gel packs were first developed for the Scottish salmon industry for safely air-freighting fish to the USA and Japan, and so will keep your chilled items well under 5°C for as long as 48 hours in warm weather and considerably longer when the weather is cold. As result, if your parcel is delayed in transit your goods will be safe for at least a couple of days. However it is important that you open your parcel as soon as possible after delivery and refrigerate the contents. If you are sending the parcel to someone else, it is important that you ensure that you let them know this.
Unfortunately such temperature sensitive food is not suitable for shipping outside the UK, or to the Channel Islands, Northern Ireland or to the Scottish Highlands and offshore UK Islands. It is not possible to send perishable or temperature sensitive food to these delivery areas as delivery can take several days and we are unable to ensure that these items will be kept within a safe temperature range for this length of time. If you live in these areas and decide to purchase such goods then it is at your own risk.
