Friarielli (Cima di Rapa, Italian Broccoli)
Friarielli - a broccoli-like vegetable marinated in oil with a little garlic and chilli. Also known as rapini, broccoli rabe, broccoletti and cime di rapa. Friarielli is particularly popular in southern Italy and Rome as well as Portugal and Galicia in northern Spain.
This friarielli is ready to eat. Simply drain and serve warm or cold. Serve with meat, especially pork, or sausages or in a sandwich. Also can be used to make the classic Apulian pasta dish orecchiette e cime di rapa - stir into freshly cooked orecchiette pasta and top with a little grated Pecorino Romano cheese.
Once opened, store in a refrigerator, and consume within 3 days.
