Nigella Seeds also known as Black Onion Seeds, or Black Cumin Seeds (although not related to the onion or regular cumin!), Kalonji and Kalongi. These small, crunchy aromatic seeds are a popular ingredient in Indian and mediterranean cooking.
Very familiar in the UK as the black seeds on naan bread, nigella seeds are very versatile and are used in breads, as a garnish for vegetables and salads. Particularly good with eggs and cheese dishes.
