Piment d'Espelette Puree - this paste is made from the ripened flesh of the famous red peppers grown near the town of Espelette in the Basque region of South West France.
Piment d'Espelette is widely used in Basque cooking and here in a puree with a perfumed scent and gentle flavour it will add personal touch to your dishes. It can be used in warm sauces and in mayonnaise to accompany your fish dishes. Or use as you would mustard to add a subtle heat and unique flavour.
We buy our PDO espelette pepper products direct from an award-winning producer in the small town of Ainhoa, in the heart of the Basque Country who grow Espelette Pepper on plots of land approved by the National Institute of Protected Designation of Origin.
