Quince Jelly, Tiptree - 340g
Quince Jelly - quince is a pear shaped fruit, the fruit develops a superb flavour and colour when cooked and made into a fine conserve or jelly. Ideal for use as a condiment, quince jelly can also be used as a glaze for meat pies.
To produce this traditional jelly the fruit is crushed, brought to the boil and simmered for 3.5 hours. This releases all the flavour and gives the jelly it's wonderful pink colour. It is then pumped into fruit press to release maximum flavour.
This quince jelly is made by the Wilkin family in Tiptree, Essex who have farmed there for nearly three hundred years. The very first Tiptree conserves were made here in 1885 and to this day they still specialise in fruit growing on the Tiptree estates.
