Zatarain's Black Beans & Rice
For more than 125 years, Zatarain’s products have been made in New Orleans by New Orleanians for New Orleanians. More than being experts on New Orleans food and flavor, they are a part of the city’s culture, and there products are a staple in Louisiana kitchens as well as the rest of the US.
Suggested Use:
1. Mix 2 1/2 cups water, Zatarain's Black Bean & Rice Mix and 2 tbsp. butter or olive oil in a large saucepan until well blended. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover.
2. Simmer for 25 minutes or until rice is tender. Stir occasionally to prevent rice and beans from sticking.
3. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving. Add a half pound of sliced sausage to make a complete meal.
