Zatarain's Jambalya Mix
For more than 125 years, Zatarain’s products have been made in New Orleans by New Orleanians for New Orleanians. More than being experts on New Orleans food and flavor, they are a part of the city’s culture, and there products are a staple in Louisiana kitchens as well as the rest of the US.
1. Mix 2 1/2 cups water, Jambalaya Rice Mix, meat of your choice and 1 tbsp. vegetable or olive oil in a large saucepan until well blended. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to low. Cover.
2. Simmer for 25 minutes or until the rice is tender.
3. Remove from heat. Let stand 5 minutes. Fluff with fork before serving.
If using cooked shrimp, add during last 5 minutes of cooking time.
